USF provides a number of service programs relating to aging and older adults, including:

  • Division of Geriatric Medicine
    The Division of Geriatric Medicine provides primary health care and consultation for older people in the Tampa Bay area. To make an appointment to see a geriatrician in the USF Clinic, please call (813) 974-2201.
  • Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at USF
    Senior programs provides non-credit continuing education opportunities in the Tampa Bay area for older adults. For more information, please call (813) 974-5263.

  • H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute The Moffitt Cancer Center is a National Cancer Institute designated comprehensive cancer center, with special programs focusing on the needs of older adults with cancer.   • James A. Haley VA Medical Center
    The James A. Haley VA Medical Center adjacent to the USF campus provides health care services for veterans, and can be reached by calling (813) 972-2000.

  • Memory Disorder Clinic
    The Memory Disorder Clinic provides comprehensive screening for adults with Alzheimer’s disease and related memory disorders. To schedule a screening appointment, please call (813) 974-8306

  • Physical Therapy Center
    The School of Physical Therapy, part of the Health Sciences Center at the University of South Florida, provides a Physical Therapy Clinic that offers strengthening, exercise programs, treatment for incontinence, evaluation for falls, rehabilitation after injury or surgery, and a number of other interventions.  To make an appointment, please call (813) 974-8613.  Since most insurance companies require a referral for physical therapy services, please consult your medical insurance coverage and go to the School’s website for more information:  http://ptcenter.hsc.usf.edu

  • Suncoast Gerontology Center
    The Suncoast Gerontology Center conducts research and provides clinical services and training for persons with Alzheimer’s disease and their caregivers. For more information, call (813) 974-4355.

  • Lakeland Campus, USF
    Rath Senior ConNEXTions and Education Center
  • The Speech-Language and Hearing Center in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders provides a full spectrum of services for older adults, including hearing aid evaluation, dispensing, and repair, and evaluation and treatment related to cochlear implants.  The Communication Disorders Center accepts referrals from physicians and other professionals as well as self-referral, at (813) 974-9844.
  • Geriatric Outpatient Clinic
    The Geriatric Outpatient Clinic is a service designed to meet the healthcare needs of the older person. The clinicians, board certified geriatricians and geriatric nurse practitioners, are faculty members of the University of South Florida with special expertise in the management of patients with multiple diagnoses, functional limitations, geriatric syndromes such as pain, incontinence, dementia, falls, disease prevention and health promotion. Every senior is different, and in need of individualized and comprehensive health screening to uncover potential problems before they become more challenging limitations. The Geriatric Outpatient Clinic will provide an assessment to each of its patients and offer a treatment plan to help promote optimal health and independence.
